James Basore, EHS Training Manager; Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

 

James Basore

James Basore is the Training Manager for the Environment Health and Safety Division at the Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is also a member of the University of California’s System-wide Training and Education Working Group, and the Department of Energy’s Training and Collaboration Working Group. Both are focused on improving the efficiency and efficacy of ES&H training within their respective ecosystems.

 

Before joining Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Mr. Basore helped shape the successful development of EH&S online training programs at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Golden Gate University. In each position, he brought focus to measuring the effectiveness of training within the organization and helping to systematize the delivery of training throughout the organizations.

 

He holds an MBA degree from Golden Gate University, and a Masters Degree in Education from San Francisco State University.

Mark Fowler, EHS Facilities Manager; Philips Invivo

 

Mark Fowler

Mark Fowler is an Environmental Health and Safety Manager at Invivo Corp., a Philips Healthcare Company in Gainesville, Fla., where he is responsible for fundamental EHS activities, including facilities, training, regulatory compliance and sustainability initiatives.

 

An experienced professional, Mr. Fowler has 20 years of EHS experience working with a variety of manufacturing, chemical and medical equipment companies. He has served in employee leadership positions as chairperson of employee engagement and leadership teams and has organized and championed upstart employee recognition programs.

 

He is a graduate of Louisiana State University with Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health, and a master's degree in Communication and Public Communication Channels between underrepresented communities and corporations with environmental agendas.

Gary Gioioso, Director of Organizational Development; Philadelphia Gas Works

 

Gary Gioioso

Gary Gioioso, is the Director of Organizational Development for Philadelphia Gas Works. Mr. Gioioso was appointed Director Organizational Development in October 2007. Mr. Gioioso oversees the operations of Staffing/Recruitment, Corporate Training and EEO/Affirmative Action as well as all internal/external complaints/investigations regarding harassment/discrimination. Also within his purview are performance management, succession planning and employee relations. He previously held the position of Manager OD as well as other positions within the Human Resources Department. In addition, he has held several positions in PGW's Field Operations Department. Mr. Gioioso received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1983 and his Masters in Industrial/Organization Psychology in 2005. He is currently pursuing an MBA at LaSalle University.

 

Prior to his experience at Philadelphia Gas Works, Mr. Gioioso also worked as an option trader for various firms (Drexel Burnham Lambert, Spear Leeds) at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.

 

Mr. Gioioso has served as a committee member of Philly SHRM as well as an advisory member of the Honickman Learning Center.   Mr. Gioioso also serves as the Chair for Philadelphia Academies Electrical/Trades Board as well as on the advisory board at Metropolitan Career Center.
